Manisha spent many years of her life traveling the country. From growing up in New England, to living on the West Coast, to attending college in Philadelphia, and traveling from state to state for work, she has spent time in many different areas. Manisha and her husband decided to move to Pinehurst to plant roots and be closer to their family. They moved, site unseen, and found a house on the internet. Manisha and her husband could not be happier in this magical town. While Manisha was not always interested in golf, her husband began playing from a young age. After watching Tiger Woods play, Manisha became entranced with the game and started playing with her husband. She is grateful to have golf in her life and wanted to pay it forward which compelled her to volunteer at First Tee – Sandhills. She loves seeing all the kiddos’ smiles and joy every time they come to class!
“My determining factor to continue coaching and supporting First Tee is believing that I am making a difference in someone’s life. It may not be monumental; it may not be felt until years later and I may never actually know that I did. I truly believe, if a seed is planted in someone for the love of the game, it will transform that person as golf did for me. That transformation is different for everyone, but the inner fortitude that comes from improving in golf can only be achieved by looking inward and reaching newer heights within yourself.”
