Hygiene Drive Recap: Addison has been blown away by the support of the Sandhills Community in this first time project. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, 316 Feminine Hygiene items were collected and distributed to the Falcon Children’s Home and Family Services on Friday, April 12.
In addition to the 316 Hygiene Products, Addison was able to redirect Amazon Gift card support to creating 120 Teen bags including feminine wipes, hand sanitizer, and chapstick for young ladies to store their products when on the go to school or extra curricular activities.
She hopes this initiative will supply teen girls at Falcon Children’s Home with support for many months to come!
What is the Hygiene Drive?
Addison Bidoli, a First Tee Teen from Fayetteville, attended the First Tee Innovators Forum in November of 2023. This three day experience is designed to equip and empower teens to develop a meaningful service project in their community upon their return home. As a maturing ninth grader, Addison understands the importance, and struggle, of accessibility to feminine hygiene products.
“My friends and I have all experienced the uncomfortable situation of being without feminine products when we needed them most.”
Such past experiences led Addison to develop a feminine hygiene product drive as her community service project after attending the First Tee Innovators Forum. The beneficiary of this project will be teens at the Falcon Children’s Home and Family Services.
“I chose this organization because I am passionate about supporting residents’ style foster homes and feel I can directly impact the most teen girls this way.”
Addison’s goal is to collect 250 hygiene items by March 31. After collection, she will distribute these items to the facility by April 15.
She is excited to begin the product drive and appreciates all donations and support!
